About Us

Who we are, what we believe, and where we serve.

Care that begins with listening

We honor each individual’s rights, choices and dignity. Our approach is person-centered: the individual leads, and our trained team walks alongside them toward the goals they set.

We meet each individual where they are today and help them build toward independence and a full life. Compassion and respect go with us into every visit and every conversation, and we try to truly see the individual in front of us.

Each individual’s journey starts with a plan they help write, called a Person-Centered Plan. We then write a Provider Implementation Plan (PIP) that turns those goals into day-to-day help. That help happens in comfortable, furnished apartment homes and out in the neighborhood.

Mission statement

Healthy Living Option Inc. supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living independent, self-directed lives, with inclusion in the community as a choice. In everything we do, we honor each person’s rights, respect their choices, and treat them with dignity.

Vision statement

We envision a community where every adult we support is seen for who they are, encouraged to reach their goals, and welcomed as a valued neighbor. Through person-centered support and community inclusion, we help people build the lives they want and become all they can be.

How to get started

You do not need every answer ready. Contact us and we will guide you through each step.

  1. Say hello

Submit the request form or call (410) 874-8551. Referrals from coordinators, agencies and families are welcome.

  2. Tell us about the individual

We get to know the individual: their goals, needs and preferences. Then we explain which of our services may fit.

  3. Plan the next steps together

We work with the individual, their family and their Coordinator of Community Services so services match the Person-Centered Plan, and we write the Provider Implementation Plan (PIP).
